With the extra time I have been finding due to lockdown I have decided to read more. Reading is a great way to educate and inspire and can use up to your time in a really good way. When looking for book recommendations I always struggle to find something that truly fits my reading style, so I wanted to suggest some that might appeal to some of you.
A BIGGER MESSAGE -conversations with David Hockney by Martin Gayford
I purchased this book with no idea of what it would actually be about I just wanted to learn more about the artist Hockney, this is one of my favourite books ive ever read and its something that I will keep with me forever. What I love about this book is how its nothing I have ever read before. The whole book is full of a decade and a half conversations between David Hockney and art critic Martin Gayford. The book gives an incredible insight to Hockneys colourful mind and how he views art. The structure is amazing and the is full of 180 illustrations. It is a must for any art lover or someone who has a desire to be educated about the creative world.
Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto
I have only just started this book but I can already tell it is going to be one of my favourites I have read this lockdown. I purchased this book after I had heard lots of really good reviews about it and it has won two of Japans most prestigious literary prizes. I am most excited to read this as I have heard so highly about Banana Yoshimotos work and how interesting her writing style is.
