I recently watched the savage Fenty show by the one and only Rihanna and OMG I am amazed. On September the 10th in Brooklyn, Rihannas famous Lingerie line shook New York fashion week as models of different sizes, gender and culture took to the runway. The show featured performances from the likes of Halsey, Migos, Dj Khaled, Big Sean, A$AP Ferg, Fat Joe, Fabolous and Tierra Whack.
Watching the documentary on amazon prime you can see how hands on Rihanna was in the whole creation of the runaway from picking out details of the outfit and even designing the details of the tag to selecting herself who she wants to be on the runaway and showcase the lingerie. Rihanna even says herself that she wanted to find people who had "unique characteristics and are people who aren't usually highlighted in the fashion industry" and this is why the show is so successful because its not aimed at a target audience it manages to make all of us feel beautiful and sexy in our own bodies. Rihanna wanted the cast to tell the narrative of what the brand represents and that's inspiring to me. The model lineup included so much inclusivity and diversity from different sizes, ethnicities, gender identities and people with disabilities.
To me the many models and dancers all created a piece of performance art and the stunning backdrop and lighting added to it. Some of the A listers that were included in the model lineup included the likes of Bella and Gigi Hadid, Cara Delavinge. The dancers were as much of a important part of the show as the models, as they too were all diverse and dressed head to toe in Fenty. The main woman behind the breathtaking choreography was none other then Parris Goebel who if you don't know is a key figure in the dance scene as her dance crew The royal Family have won the World Hip Hop Dance Championship a record 3 times as well as dancing in known music videos such as Justin Bieber's 'Sorry'. The choice of dancers adds to the whole element of what Fenty savage is all about to Rihanna and represents it in the most beautiful way.

Overall I think Rihanna not only pulled off a runaway show, she created history and reached out to the people who aren't targeted in the industry and made them feel beautiful in their skin. I think it's safe to say that Rihanna did more then Victorias secret could ever do and that's the tea.
