When looking through my photo album I came across photos from my stay in Gangi. I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard of Gangi before so I wanted to tell you bit about it and my time spent there. Gangi is a town in the region of Sicily. It was named the most beautiful village in Italy and I'm lucky to say that's my grandads home town. Italy has always been my second home and im incredibly to see as much of it as I have. My grandmother was born in Naples and my grandfather Gangi so most of my family are in Italy. Out of all the places I have visited in that country Gangi is my all time favourite. I can't even think of the correct words to describe this country as I feel no words would be able to describe fully its true beauty.

The first time I ever saw Gangi was on a family holiday to Sicily. My second cousin picked us up from the hotel and took us, what I wasn't expecting was the stunning views even on the drive to the town. Gangi is based in a big hill so to get there you have to drive up them as well, the sheer height of them was something I've never seen before, I mean at one point we were even above the clouds. When we turned a particular corner I was faced with a view that simply left me speechless. Gangi is known for being built in a hill face but I've never seen a structure so beautiful. The towns all placed perfectly on top of each other surrounded by mountains was something from a watercolour painting. We firstly explored the cobbled streets and little house. With an elevation of 1,011 m above sea level you are faced with jaw dropping views around ever corner. As I had mentioned my grandad was from gangi which I meant I had family there, so I visited my great auntie who greeted me with so much love, something that Italians are known for. Of course another thing Italians are known for is their incredible cooking so while my auntie was making me pasta I stood on her balcony and just took the time to take in the view and be grateful for the oppurtuties I have. After a very filling dinner my family said they had a surprise for us and showed us my grandads old home which was still in tact. Another thing about Italians is that they're very kind so a lady who lived above my grandads home let us into the house and even offered us to have espressos at hers. Sadly the time came for us to head back to our own hotel but I took the whole drive back to be thankful for the life I get to live and the amazing family I have surrounding me.
