Recently we got given the pre arrival task to gather images relating to adjectives from the essay we wrote. I scanned through my pages and chose: dominating, Hazy and striking. I only had about an hour to go out and find things that I think relate these words so I turned to nature and headed straight to the arboretum. I tend to overthink when given a task in a short space of time and then just spend the entire time overthinking and left with something that has no correlation to the given task so I told myself don't panic.
once I was in the arboretum I headed straight to the birds for some sign of hope.like I said I didn't want myself to overthink so I just started taking odd pictures of whatever caught my attention. As I was looking back through the handful of photographs I took I noticed one particular one caught my attention it was of a few of the birds with their bright colours next to the green of their gate enclosure immediately I got the inspiration of using it for the word striking so I worked with it. I did multiple close ups of different birds while still trying to capture some of the boldness of the gate in . The final image I decided from this is the one pictured above. I chose this because I enjoy how pleasing the composition is and how all the colours seem to fit in a nice colour palette together. The gate also adds some kind of texture and 3d to the image which I think is really nice and compliments the image overall.
Happy with how easy it was me to find an image for an adjective when I decided to be free with it I took myself further into the arboretum and just photographed anything that drew my attention. many many squirrels crossed my path but not unsurprisingly they deemed a hard model to photograph so I gave pointing the camera towards them. after a short while I stumbled across the next image for my adjective dominating. a large bird (I personally believe it was a talk but others beg to differ)flew past me carrying a medium sized pigeon in it grasp. now I'm not exactly a wildlife expert so I was took by great surprise when I saw this happen and took photos more so out of disbelief then even thinking I would use them. but as I was about to press send on them image to my friends just so they would believe what I had witnessed I realised it would be the perfect shot for dominating.

I was then left with hazy which was the one word I had a rough idea of where to go for it. I knew there was a graveyard opposite the road so I headed over and started zooming in on certain areas. I was fortunate that the weather was quite overcast so the sun looked like it was hazy which created the perfect lighting setting. The images were still very crisp but to me carried the aura of haziness.Overall I found this task very nice and creative as it allowed me to look into my settings more and what I actually think of when given something to match it to.
