The met gala is one of the most important events in the fashion Calendar and it was sad to see it had been cancelled but it would simply be too unsafe to go ahead with. But high fashion twitter took this as an opportunity to create history with the first online met gala. If your not aware high fashion twitter are a group of people on twitter who update and talk about everything going on in the fashion world. I like to them picture them as the cool people who sit on their own table and everyone wants to be there friends.
Their reason for creating this event was to create an online space where "fantasy reigns supreme and impracticality does not exist" and encourages "fashion enthusiasts around the world to share and express their unique creative visions without real world inhibitions". They have turned this empty space into something that will create history and have given people the platform o express their love for creations and imagery. The faces behind the 11 accounts were girls who live across the globe and age ranged from 15 to 22 but this didn't stop them.
The official high fashion met gala page racked up 11.k followers leading up to the event and defiantly had an audience waiting with anticipation. On the event each account created their own look or mood board on what their met gala look would look like. They also took time in explaining why they have chosen a certain theme each and why they took it on in a certain way.

From this event they have had a range of media coverage from Dazed magazine to Vogue and have since created their own e book called temporal conflation-fashion and duration. I am excited to see what the future is for these girls and love that they are bringing something new to the table.
