erm hi, this is all very new and strange too me and probably is as strange to you to. When told to make a blog post I felt anxious but also excited. the thought of a blog never crossed my mind so it took me a few days to actually decide what I wanted to write about, but I thought I should properly introduce myself. I'm Mia Francesca Ciuro, I'm 18 years old and I'm currently studying Fashion Promotion and Communication at Nottingham Trent University. I'm not going to ramble on about my hobbies or what sports I spend my time doing because frankly I don't do any BUT I do have a strong passion for art and fashion.
Nottingham?
In my opinion I found the most stressful part of the past year was actually waking up at 5am and going cross country to universities, safe to say I'm not a morning person or a good traveller. It took a lot of researching on where would best suit me and what each universities version on the course would fit me. I defiantly found that Nottingham had caught my eye from the start and made me focused throughout the course of completing my diploma in art.
I haven't visited Nottingham prior to open days and I was pleasantly surprised I found that the city had the right mix of modern and history and made me eager to get on the streets and explore. I found that doing the task "finding cool places" defiantly helped me find my feet in this amazing city. I'm still a country side girl at heart but I'm starting to truly love living in this city.
Why FCP?
One of the most common questions I got asked at my university interviews was why I was going from an art diploma to wanting to study a fashion degree. I've always known I've wanted to study a creative subject and I've always had an interest in fashion. It wasn't until first year of college where I started to find my own personal style and looked at fashion photography and included aspects of it into my art work that I knew I wanted to pursue a career in fashion. I don't have any regrets about studying art as it taught me how to take a creative brief and make it my own and start to develop ideas for myself. It also taught me how to deal with real life clients as we often got asked to commissions with brands such as AGA and local communities.
look forward to future content from this blog such as fashion, art, music, lifestyle etc. I'm excited to explore the wild world of the blogs and want you to come along with me.
