okay so im not writing this post because I'm Kpop crazy im doing this because westernised celebrities fashion is honestly lacking in my opinion. I don't find that they're bringing anything new to the table and I hate to say it but most of the time its.... boring. Kpop idols in my eyes are years ahead of everyone else they were men in crop tops wayyyy before it hit the runway and that's super cool to me. I decided I wanted to tell you about some of my favourite idols who I think are making a name for them selves in the fashion world.
An example of someone who sets boundaries in fashion for Kpop idols is Kwon Ji-yong also known as G dragon. Kwon is part of the famous Kpop group Big Bang who have had huge success over the years from number 1s to selling out arenas all over the world, as well as being a full time Kpop idol he has also made a name for himself in the fashion industry. Some of his most iconic moments include becoming a brand ambassador for Chanel in 2017 and appearing in multiple of their commercials. He also featured on the 20th anniversary of vogue Koreas front cover who which was none other shot by Karl Lagerfield himself. He later went on to start his own fashion brand called PeaceMinusOne which was incredibly successful especially coming from someone who was new in the fashion business. The brand has achieved many successes such as collaborating with other brands such as nike, fragment design, colette and ambush as well as promoting his creations in pops around the globe from London, Miami, Osaka and Hong Kong as well as even collaborating with vogue to do a special pop up shop in Seoul.

One of the things he's known most for is how he redesigns most of his clothes. As well as being an incredible recording artist he is also a talented artist, is he tends to add his own creative touch on things such as adding his signature daises symbol to his Jordans or even continuing to rectify his own designed trousers by cutting them up and illustrating on them. I think k g dragon is a influential person in the fashion world because he doesn't tie down to boundaries and instead continue to push them to perfect his own person style.
One of the things that I picked up on when researching Kpop fashion is how many male idols actually wear female clothing whether that's crop tops or even dresses. To me this is a massive step-in stone in educating people in what they're persecption of what "masculinity" is and that males can wear womens clothes and how it doesn't actually affect their sexual orientations at all. In this day and age everyone is very opinionated on their beliefs and that's completely correct but sometimes it isn't nescerally correct and so for Male idols to actually want to wear women's clothing at their high platforms is incredibly important. One idol who drew particular attention to this subject is none other than Kim Taehyung from BTS who appeared to wear a dress in one of their latest music videos. Now this wasn't any kind of dress this was the iconic Jaquemes Bahia dress, he wore the amazing dress with pink trousers and a pink feather boa, simply ICONIC.

I could spend simply hours listing every time an idol did something tops the Kpop boundaries but I think you would never wanna read another one of my blogs again, but to highlight another instance where idols have set trends are when they had a phase of the male idols wearing crop tops. I think this is incredibly bad ass as they're almost saying you know what we don't care what your opinions are we can wear whatever the hell we want and still look as masculine as we would if we wore a tight top. What I love about the numerous idols following this trend is that the fans are rooting them, like looking on the responses to the photos of them they're all so supportive and praise them for doing what makes them feel comfortable.
